Our Philosophy
At Amazing Grace Early Learning Centre we believe in providing children with the highest quality of care allowing each and every child to reach their fullest potential, by enhancing all areas of growth and development, in a warm caring and home like environment that is a reflection of our children, families and our community. This will be reflected through our Explore, Learn and Grow story, GRACE values and the delivery of our holistic excellence program in relation to Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards NQS
Children
We believe each child is a unique individual and should be viewed and respected as such. We will work alongside your child to actively promote their personal learning through challenging experiences and interactions. We will ensure each child is respected as individuals through their cultures, beliefs and values to reach their full potential.
Educators
We believe in creating an environment of trust and respect, where educators bring qualities to the centre such as empathy, respect, warmth and passion for learning. Educators will support children’s participation in their learning process, where educators can assist children to develop confidence and self-esteem. We will encourage all educators to share their interests and passion with the children and be supported to incorporate this into the program and environment
Families
We acknowledge that families are the first teachers and they are the central part to their child’s learning. We will work in partnership with our families to create a centre that is nurturing and supportive where their voices are also incorporated into the centres program and practices. We provide many opportunities to engage in family input and encourage this strongly.
Educational Program
Our educational program is reflective of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – Being, Belonging and Becoming. The centres program is flexible allowing for planned and spontaneous experiences, it is individual to each child and family.
We believe diversity within our centre, families, staff and wider community should be celebrated, reflecting respect and cultural understanding within the program and daily practices.
Community
We acknowledge Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this country and their connection to the land, water and community in which we operate. We pay our respect to them, their cultures and customs both past and present. We recognize the importance of embracing diversity within our centre, and with ongoing learning from educators and our families we are committed to embracing diversity within our centre, so that children can view this diversity with a sense of appreciation, acceptance and wonder.
Environment
We believe in the importance of the learning environments being welcoming spaces. We believe in materials and resources in our classroom reflecting the natural world, with emphasis on the environment being the third teacher. We promote to increase the awareness of our environmental responsibilities to contribute to a sustainable, future making eco-friendly choices. We encourage the concept of “Reduce, Re-use and Recycle”, this is promoted in our everyday practices and the resources we use.
