The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) is a national curriculum framework that outlines the standards for early childhood education in Australia. It was developed in consultation with state and territory governments, early childhood education and care sector, and academics. The EYLF emphasizes play-based learning, intentional teaching, and the integration of learning outcomes with cultural competence and social and emotional development. It covers the development of children from birth to five years and supports their transition to formal schooling.

The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) supports children in their kindergarten year by guiding learning through play, exploration, and real-life experiences. It helps children build confidence, independence, wellbeing, early literacy and numeracy skills, and positive relationships, while supporting a smooth transition to school. The QKLG recognises each child as a capable learner and values learning that connects to family, community, and the environment.

Kindergarten Program Kindergarten, known as Kindy, is a part-time educational program that promotes social emotional, physical and cognitive development and wellbeing for children in the year prior to formal schooling, delivered using an approved kindergarten learning framework. Kindy is delivered by a qualified teacher and meets government requirements to support children’s participation in quality early childhood education.
In our Kindergarten classroom, we provide a welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel safe to be themselves and are supported to develop holistically in preparation for school. Educators build strong, respectful relationships and learn about each child through observations, conversations, assessments, and partnerships with families. Our high-quality programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, ensuring every child is valued as a unique individual within our classroom community.
Our learning environment reflects children’s interests and encourages exploration through flexible learning areas and hands-on experiences. With a strong connection to nature, children engage with natural materials, indoor–outdoor learning spaces, and sustainable practices, fostering care for the environment and a sense of belonging.
